No Politics In The Mosque

NO POLITICS IN THE MOSQUE!!!
Despite hearing for years that there can be no politics in the mosque and that Muslims should not criticize the government or its policies inside the masjid, we are faced with a strange irony today. With the general elections in full swing the mosque pulpits have become the soap boxes of the politicians.
Once again they remind us about how wonderful the Muslim community is and how our interests would be best served if we voted for them. Since the last election the Muslims have been on the receiving end of draconian laws which haven’t been seen since medieval times. Removing peoples passports so they become stateless and thus it is no problem to kill, kidnap or torture them. The same politicians that are a regular in the Mosques around this time are also passing bills to allow social services to remove Muslim children from their parents if the parents do not agree with their values.
The same politicians have turned a blind eye to the atrocities against Muslims in Syria, or the Central African republic where Muslims have been butchered on the streets by marauding gangs of Christians, or in Egypt where 500 Muslims were recently sentenced to death in a single day without a single word of doubt, shock or outrage from these same MPs and we know very well they do doubt, shock and outrage, we hear it whenever a Muslims does something they don’t like.
We as Muslims are all aware of the atrocities government commit back home, what amazes us is those atrocities never make the headlines. The media who serve the government and its MPs is too busy attacking and demonizing the Muslims, halal meat one week, radicalisation the next and Trojan horses the week after that.

In the time of the prophet Muhammad we know of one famous politician, Abu Lahab, he was the leader of the Quaraish, he is mentioned in the Qur'an in Surah Masad 111 where Allah(swt) says “perish the hands of Abu Lahab”, there are many people who tell the Muslims to vote so someone can legislate laws in parliament on behalf of us, despite the fact that Allah(swt) is the only Legislator, search your heart, ask Allah (swt) to guide you and ask yourselves this, “Would Muhammad(saw) have allowed Abu Lahab or any of his helpers to stand on the pulpit and seek the support of  his companions.”
