BRITISH MUSLIMS OR MUSLIMS IN BRITAIN?

Muslims who live in Britain are often asked about whether they feel British first or Muslim first, whom their allegiance is towards and how loyal they are to the country in which they reside. Some Imams in the UK have made statements saying that there is a long tradition of Muslims fighting for Britain from the time of the British Empire, who have even given their life for the sake of Queen and country and that there is in fact no contradiction between being British and Muslim and indeed it is even admirable and an Islamic character and duty to show support for the regime under which you live by being part of their army or police or helping them against Muslims calling for Shari’ah, because they grant you protection for your life and wealth. This booklet will highlight the grave errors in these ideas and expose them for the lies that they evidently are!

THE CONCEPT OF ISLAMIC BROTHERHOOD

It is an essential element of any Muslim’s belief that there is a brotherhood of Muslims worldwide that is manifested in the statement of the Messenger Muhammad when he said that we are a unique Ummah worldwide, our land is one, our war is one, our peace is one, 
our honour is one and that any one of us can represent all of us.

The manifestation of this is to love for the sake of Allah those we are informed that we must love and to hate for the sake of Allah those we are told to hate, to ally for the sake of Allah with those who we told to ally with and to distance ourselves for the sake of Allah from those we are told to distance ourselves from. The same will also apply to concepts such as support and respect. The Messenger Muhammad () said that this is the strongest bond of belief.

The result of such brotherhood and love amongst Muslims should mean that for a practising Muslim any other bonds such as nationalism, tribalism, patriotism, interest bonds, bonds based on colour or race are either insignificant or merely ways to describe ones background and lineage.

The Messenger Muhammad () informed us that there is no difference between black or white, between the Arab and non-Arab, except on the basis of fearing Allah and hence abiding by his commands and prohibitions. In addition he said that no one of us is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself and that a Muslim is not the one who oppresses his brother, lets him down or hands him over to the disbelievers.

THE ISLAMIC VERDICT OF BEING IN THE BRITISH ARMY OR POLICE

The Army and police of Britain are a non-Islamic entity. It is completely prohibited for anyone to be part of such an entity since they protect the kufr (non-Islamic) entity of the British regime which is ruling by non-Islamic law. They therefore uphold its laws and protect its false sovereignty whereas sovereignty belongs solely to Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala). Moreover they are fighting with the American soldiers against Muslims. Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) says in the Qur’an:

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong­doers and unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)

This alliance with the Kufaar (disbelievers) can be one of two; either they will be sinful if they stand with the Kufaar or they will become apostates if they engage in fighting against Muslims. Some Muslims in the British army participate with them in fighting against their Muslim brothers in Afghanistan. This is clear naked aggression against all Muslims, and Muslims are obliged to reject it and resist them as a matter of obligation to remove the occupation.

As for those Muslims who join the army, they will thereby be sinful and if any one of them fights side-by-side with the UK and US forces against Muslims, they will become apostates, being at war, as they are, with Islam and Muslims, and their life and wealth will no longer have the sanctity of Muslims under the Shari’ah. They will be treated like the disbelievers as clear enemies to Islam and Muslims. Moreover if they die in battle they will die outside of the fold of Islam, and they will never be dignified in their death nor buried with the Muslims.

Therefore we warn the Muslims wherever they are, particularly those Muslims in the British army, not to offer any support, moral, financial, militarily or physical in the onslaught against Islam and Muslims anywhere in the world, though the enemies may attempt to take Muslims onto their side. Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) designated people in this Ummah that will direct others that go astray, May Allah protect us all.

And for those who go to fight Muslims in Afghanistan, remember that the Prophet () forbade Muslims from pointing even a small knife at another Muslim, even as a joke, when he () said:

Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah () said: "None of you must point a weapon at his brother for he does not know whether the devil may draw it out while it is in his hand as a result of which he will fall into a pit of hell." [al-Bukhari (7072) and Muslim (2617)]

Let alone being involved in carrying machine guns, and driving tanks with the US and British army, arresting and imprisoning Muslims or fighting and killing them. Those from whose hand Muslims will never be secure, although the Messenger Muhammad () said:

“A Muslim is the one from whose hand and tongue his Muslim brother is secure

BEING A BRITISH MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT IS AN ACT OF APOSTACY

As for those ministers of the British parliament such as Khalid Mahmood and Seyeeda Warsi, they are apostates from Islam who help to rule and judge by other than what Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) has revealed, as Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) says in the Qur’an:

And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers. (Al-Ma'idah 5:44) [Sahih International]

These are the ones who play God in the parliament and therefore seek to challenge the sovereignty of Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala). Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) is clear that only Islam can be implemented:

O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. (An-Nisa 4:59)

SPYING ON MUSLIMS OR WORKING WITH ‘PREVENT’ WILL MAKE YOU A KAAFIR!

As for those who are allied with the British regime and who take money to work for them as spies, whether through the ‘Prevent’ mechanism or as their police or as Imams in the mosques or so called leaders doing the British government’s bidding:

These people spy on Muslims, fight them and even try to deceive them. We ask them to give up their apostasy immediately. For Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) says:

“And from mankind there are some who say: ‘We believe in Allah and the Last day’ while in fact they do not believe. They think to deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, but they perceive not.” [(Al-Baqarah 2:8)]

One of their deceptions is that they claim to be believers, yet they spy on Muslims or they go to fight them, or they report against them to the Kufaar. If they claim to do so as no more than a job or being ‘law abiding citizens’, we remind them of the saying of the Messenger Muhammad (), who said: 

“Whoever earns a bite of food by reporting or spying on Muslims, Allah will feed him the equivalent in the hell fire, and whoever wears clothes earned from spying against Muslims, Allah will clothe him with hell fire.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

Which is better for mankind?

Anyone who watches the news cannot help but notice that almost every other story nowadays involves Islam and Muslims, from the situation in Iraq and Syria, to the terrorism threat, to the role of Islamic schools and Mosques. Although Islam is the fastest growing religion in Britain it nevertheless remains the most misunderstood religion in Britain as well. The false ideas that people hold about Islam range from the idea that Muslim men like to groom young Western women to the idea that the Shari’ah is backwards and has no place in the modern world. It is intended in this short leaflet to highlight some of the benefits that Islam and the Shari’ah has brought to mankind already and will bring once more in the future Insha’Allah.

The Shari’ah (or divine law) was revealed by God (Allah) to mankind via the Messenger Muhammad in the form of the Qur’an (the actual word of God) and the example of the Prophet Muhammad himself (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Under the Shari’ah, sovereignty and supremacy belongs to God as opposed to belonging to human beings, as under man made laws. Moreover the Shari’ah law is unchangeable and applicable in every generation from the time of the last Prophet to mankind, Muhammad, until the day of judgement. In fact the same Shari’ah as was revealed to the Prophet was implemented in its entirety for over 1300 years, from 622AD when the Prophet established the first Islamic State in Madina, until the 3rd of March 1924 when the khilafah (the Islamic ruling system) was dismantled by the enemies of Islam and Muslims.

If we look at the Shari’ah in practise, we can see that in the heart of Europe countries such as Spain and Portugal, parts of Switzerland and Austria, even parts of Southern France were once governed by the Shari’ah. For over 800 years from the 8th century until the 16th century, Andalusia (modern day Spain) implemented the divine law of God where Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together with their religion, life, honour, mind and wealth protected. This era was in fact considered the golden period for Judaism and Christianity in Europe where their scriptures were translated into modern European languages and where material and scientific development was hundreds of years advanced and ahead of the rest of Europe. Islam and the Shari’ah never being an obstacle to mankind’s progress in any field from astronomy to mathematics, from literature to jurisprudence.

When one looks at the problems that plague Europe today such as immigration, racism, homelessness, poverty, crime and a lack of ambition amongst the youth, Islam is not usually the first place people look for solutions. However Islam is the only tried and tested alternative to capitalism/liberal democracy which has actually been implemented. Communism, the other ideology claiming to provide a comprehensive solution to the malaise in which we find ourselves today, has never actually been implemented completely as it fundamentally disagrees with the natural disposition of human beings such as their survival instinct. On the other hand when Islam was implemented it in fact eradicated poverty, reduced crime to a negligible amount, overcame all racism and provided justly for all citizens in terms of food, clothing and shelter. Islam would even guarantee that resources such as gas, electricity and water would be given free of charge to all citizens Muslim and non-Muslim if implemented.

In a world of increasing instability, where the rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer, where instead of following the perfect law of God as revealed to his Messengers, some people foolishly insult them by submitting to the false God of freedom of expression, where millions of people are killed to establish the military and economic interests of certain brutal regimes under the guise of fighting for freedom and democracy, whilst at the same time propping up oppressive rulers who will do their bidding, the world is crying out for change. A change where all citizens, Muslim and non-Muslim, are protected. A change where the law is not subject to the whims and desires of a select few individuals, who do as they please once elected. A change where the evils of man made law such as alcohol, gambling, pornography and other oppression and exploitation are eradicated once and for all. That change will only come about when the divine law, i.e. Islam and the Shari’ah, are once again the law and order and where sovereignty is once again given to whom it belongs, Allah!



The Return of the Golden Dinar

THE RETURN of the GOLDEN DINAR



The return to the Islamic currency of Dinar and Dirham is far more significant than re-branding of banknotes.

It is a return to real currency based on actual precious metals. Namely gold and silver as was the Sunnah and order of Muhammad (saw) over 1400 years ago,who said,

“The measurements are based on Makkah while the weights are based on Madinah”

In Islam, 1 dinar is 4.25g of Gold and 1 Dirham is 2.975g of silver. IS have recently declared that they will mint 7 new coins based on these weights of actual gold and silver.

This is in contrast to the fiat currency system currently in place in almost the entire world. A fiat system is not backed by any real value, gold, silver or any other physical asset. Rather the only value place on such paper currency is the acceptance of the currency forced by the government and confidence in that state and its economy. 

This is why the value of paper currency can change with simple rumours, politics or public fear.

The problems caused by this system is most apparent in the recent credit crunch and can be summarized as follows.

Fiat Currency summarized

One of the purposes of using paper currency that are not backed by gold or silver is to retain the option to simply print more money as needed by the state. This has a number of effects on the society,

1)      The state has the ability to spend money it doesn't or didn't have and

2)      The increase in notes circulating decreases the confidence in that currency making everyone’s money worth less, which is why prices go up.

Rotten fruits of paper money

(i)        States print money to spend in emergencies such as war because they cannot afford to spend enough otherwise. Essentially this is like taxing all citizens without their knowledge as every citizen’s salaries, savings and hard earned cash is simply worth less and therefore buys less than it should. It is the equivalent of each citizen giving some of its money to the state as a new tax.

(ii)       States print money to pay back their debts which often have a lot of interest added to it. This of course causes inflation and the real victim of this money saving tactic is the poorest of communities who cannot afford the new high prices and interest rates.

(iii)     Every time a state prints money to pay off its wealth creditors, it further impoverishes the most needy, increasing the divide between rich and poor.

(iv)     It is possible for the value of paper money to be completely ruined such as German currency after World War II which became completely worthless after being defeated.

(v)      As the value of paper money is entirely based on confidence, allied states often collaborate to maintain value in each other’s currencies while denouncing and devaluing the currency of enemy nations.

(vi)     All of these processes progressively makes the poorest in society suffer and increase in poverty while simultaneously enriching the already rich further increasing the divide between rich and poor.

The return of the Golden Dinar and Silver Dirham will put an end to all of the above oppression, dictatorship and irresponsible state behaviour and provides citizens with a universal currency that has actual value anywhere in the world. It puts an end to inflation and stops punishing citizens for the irresponsible spending and borrowing of their government.

The return to this forgotten Sunnah could see the eradication of poverty, exploitation and the profound disparity between classes in the world. It could be the beginning to an end to third world debt and the recovery of honour and dignity to billions of people in the world.

BRITISH MUSLIM OR MUSLIM IN BRITAIN?


Muslims who live in Britain are often asked about their own identity, whether they feel British, whether they owe any allegiance to this country and also whether they need to adopt values which are promoted in this country. It is in intended in this short leaflet to answer this question.

Islam is not like any other religion or belief, in that it is a complete way of life. This is called “Deen” by Allah in the Qur’an. The companions of the Prophet Muhammad () used to comment that there was no matter however small or large that Islam had not addressed. Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari (ra) for example said that there was no bird which flew in the sky about which the Messenger Muhammad () did not tell us something. Salman Al-Farisi (ra) said that the Prophet even informed us about the detailed rules on how to purify ourselves after urinating and defecating. The Qur’an and the Messenger Muhammad () himself informed us that there are to be no more Prophets sent to mankind and that in fact the Deen of Islam is the final message from Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) to mankind completing his favour and dealing with every matter that could arise until the Day of Judgement.

When one looks at the rulings contained in the divine revelation of the Qur’an and the Prophets example (Sunnah) we find that everything from ruling to the economy, from inheritance to how to bring up our children has been addressed. Muslims have been given a complete way of life through Islam without the need to adopt any other ideas or values. Hence in Islam calling for or fighting for nationalism (‘Assabiyyah) has been outlawed, ruling by other than what Allah has revealed has been called an act of disbelief and controlling the tongue has been made paramount to the extent that the Prophet said that most of the people are in the hellfire because of what they said and not what they did. This is clearly in stark contrast to promoting or fighting for patriotic or tribal causes, accepting anyone to make laws up according to their own whims (as under democracy) or the freedom to say whatever you wish, including to insult the honour of the Prophets!

In fact when one looks at the life of the Messenger Muhammad (), we see that just as we live among the non-Muslims in Britain, he lived among the non-Muslims of the Quraish in Makkah. Far from adopting their own way of life, which at that time included burying their daughters alive, cheating in the markets and oppressing people through their unjust system, the Prophet and his companions (the Sahabah) interacted with the society to invite them to a better way of life i.e. Islam and he enjoined good and forbade evil openly and publicly creating awareness and public opinion in favour of Islam.

There are in the world today in fact two competing camps, those who believe sovereignty and supremacy belongs to Allah and those who believe that these belong to man. The conflict is such that the regimes which adopt ideas alien to Islam are keen for them either to give up their Islamic beliefs and to adopt their own culture and way of life or to get Muslims to reinterpret Islam so that it agrees with their ideas. Hence the British Regime have introduced many initiatives targeting the Muslim community over the last few years. These include citizenship classes at schools and also defining as extreme those who call for Shari’ah, who believe in the concept of Jihad or who expose the British foreign policy in places such as Iraq or Afghanistan. Terms such as Islamist, radical, fundamentalist etc are often used to smear the image of these Muslims.

Far from giving up our own Deen and adopting someone else’s interpretation of “Islam” which suits their own policies, Muslims must go back to the Islamic standard which is the Qur’an and Sunnah, according to the understanding of the Sahabah. This is the only Deen acceptable to Allah and does not include the false ideas of man to be legislator (democracy) or for people to say and do as they wish (freedom) or to relegate Allah only to the Masjid (secularism).

Like the Messenger Muhammad () in Makkah, Muslims in Britain must engage with the masses  to invite them to embrace the beauty and justice  of Islam rather than to give up our Deen and begin to embrace ideas, values and concepts which contradict the Shari’ah (divine law). In answer to the question therefore, we are Muslims wherever we are in the world, first and last, not British, French, Pakistani or Bengali Muslims. These titles can in fact be no more than a means of description or identity, not a basis or criteria for our own behaviour!
